Dr Tony Chiu

Dentist

Dr Tony Chiu - Dentist

After graduating from the University of Otago, Dr Tony Chiu, despite growing up in Auckland, decided to stay in the South Island for its natural beauty and the down-to-earth nature of its people. Tony spent his first year practicing in Oamaru, before returning to Dunedin for the next 8 years. This was where he honed his general dentistry skills, especially his passion for root canal treatment. Tony always endeavours to deliver treatment that is not only of utmost quality but also make the whole dental experience as comfortable and pain-free for everyone.

Tony understands that the fear of dentistry is not knowing what is happening most of the time, hence he strives to place great communication in the forefront of anything he does. He truly believes building good rapport, builds trust, and trust is the foundation of all great dental experiences. You’ll have to come and experience this yourself!

Outside of dentistry, Tony is an avid reader and photographer (being a wedding photographer one day is his dream). In his free time, he likes to look after little plants and tend his garden. Tony lives locally in Prebbleton with his wife.
